The Bug
Blocks from the world generation can sometimes replace ruined portal stone blocks. This theoretically includes diorite, andesite, granite, dirt, gravel, and ores.
Here is an example, where diorite replaces stone:
Version: 1.21
Seed: 2787035959889799829
Coordinates: /execute in minecraft:overworld run tp @s 78 63 -1 0 0
Steps to Reproduce
Generate a new default world with the provided seed and teleport to the location using the command.
Look at the blocks in front of you.
Note if the diorite has replaced stone, which was part of the ruined portal.

After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.
Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
