I was messing around in a flat world when I made some stupid contraption. A line of rails (like 5 or 6 long) and a block at one end with like 5+ minecarts on one rail. I out a minecart on the other end then pushed it into the side with all the minecarts. It impacted all of them and started going off the track but instead of stopping, they continued until I put a block in front of them. I could even ride the minecarts. This was just the version that I found it in. I have no clue if it affects other versions
