Since the Infdev release from April 13, 2010 of Minecraft, the players deathTime parameter stops increasing a few seconds after death. This causes the camera rotation and zoom animations played after death to stop after a few seconds. To reproduce this just make the player die. After a few seconds the camera stops zooming in and rotating.

I can't reproduce this issue in 24w34a. The player DeathTime key in level.dat keeps increasing after each save on death screen.
