The emissive parts of the creaking render translucent in front of the clouds, regardless of Graphics or Clouds settings.
This is a separate problem to MC-278516, which is more consistent and definitely creaking-specific.
How to reproduce:
Install and load the attached resource pack.
Summon a creaking.
Switch to Survival mode.
Look through the creaking's glowing parts from the bottom, so that you are looking towards the clouds.
Expected result:
The clouds would not render in front of the creaking's glowing parts if they are behind the creaking.
Observed result:
The clouds render in front of the creaking's glowing parts even if they are behind the creaking.

Perhaps as a starting point for finding what's actually happening, it looks like somehow the clouds aren't being blocked by any eyes geometry so they render in front of the eyes?

After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.
Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
