Nether portals can have more than one linked nether portal

Nether portals can have more than one linked nether portal.

Let me use an example to describe what I mean:

I make a nether portal, go into the nether with it, and come back. I build another nether portal within a 200 block radius of the first one in either dimension. I go through that nether portal I just built, and it doesn't open up to a new portal in the other dimension, it just leads me to an existing portal from the first set of portals (specifically the one in the opposite dimension).

Please fix this soon, as it has been an existing bug for quite a while. It is quite annoying to deal with when building more than one set of portals in about a 200 block radius.
