Anvil random turning and disappearing

If you place a anvil so that it falls it will turn positions and sometimes disappear. Only occurs if placed in a certain way, see picture. Note: only happens when the anvil falls and will disappear when it hits the ground. The anvil will also sometimes take damage when it falls from this position, only SOMEtimes.
