Several items sometimes freeze the game

Several items sometimes freezes the game visually.

Steps to Reproduce:

Give yourself a map.

/give @s map

Or alternatively, you can open the creative menu / crafting recipe book / gamemode switcher.

This happens seemingly randomly, so you might want to try several times with different items.

Observed Results:
After the item is given, or when the menu is shown, the game freezes.

Expected Results:
The game won’t freeze and behave like normal.
