Vindicator spawn eggs named “Johnny” don’t cause the vindicator to become hostile

I was playing on a creative world and just messing around. I wanted to get the Johnny vindicator so I named the spawn egg Johnny it wouldn’t work I spawned all sorts of mobs for it to kill like sheep rabbits and goats but it was just a normal vindicator but when I right clicked it with the name tag Johnny it started killing everything like it normally would.

Environment

Creative super flat world

Oops my mistake I meant using NBT data to get it to work the spawn egg on an anvil works just fine but using commands or NBT data to summon a Johnny vindicator doesn’t work even though stuff like toast and jeb_ work fine.

This is actually not specific to Minecraft.

macOS Terminal history sometimes randomly becomes inaccessible.

I think the only way to fix it is to use the GUI; command-line options don’t seem to work at all.

Maybe try running the server.jar and making a superflat world that way.

See if it prints out an error in the log.

If you specify any NBT data then you need to make sure the Johnny flag is set, eg. /summon minecraft:vindicator ~ ~ ~ {equipment:{mainhand:{id:"minecraft:iron_axe"}},Johnny:1b}.
