Today I was playing on my survival world and noticed, when you go through the end gateway to the unloaded chunks to the outer end islands, for a brief second you can see and hear the rain and after the chunks has loaded it disappeared. I don’t know if there is a timer or if it was raining in the overworld at the time but that’s what I saw. I tested it on version 1.21.5 but I think I have seen it in previous versions as well
