I killed the ender dragon and a portal came. I went in it and there were words (I think this was the End Poem, there were credits). The game was closed during the credits. When I went back to Minecraft and returned to my world is was a totally different world. Everything was missing like it was reset.

As the message says, you have no home bed or charged respawn anchor, or it was obstructed, so you were put back at world spawn, which may be very far from your actual base. This is how it’s supposed to work, and how it has always worked.
If you’re claiming that chunks were actually regenerated, I can’t reproduce that and I don’t think anyone else will be able to either.
