The Bug:
In Java edition, Happy Ghasts following snowballs cannot keep up with a sprinting player, especially if they are sprint jumping. This seems slow, and does not match how it is in Bedrock edition.
In Bedrock edition, a tempted Happy Ghast is so fast, it can keep pace with a player at full speed sprint jumping and all. This affects gameplay to a degree perhaps larger than one might think, as transporting Happy Ghasts while not always riding them is a rather large part of utilizing this mob.
Due to this parity difference, you could say Java edition players will have a slow, more tedious experience, and could even affect their usage on leads.
(Flat World used for easy demonstration purposes)
Steps to Reproduce:
1. On Java edition, tempt a Happy Ghast with a snowball. Run around as best you can- quickly you will notice the ghast will stop caring and no longer follow you, as itβs not fast enough to keep up.
Do the same tempting on Bedrock, on similar terrain.
Notice how on Bedrock, the Happy Ghast easily keeps up with you sprint jumping, making transport and moving of the mob very easy and convenient. Again to reiterate, this could affect actual gameplay and how people use the mob.
Perhaps, this bug is less about speed, but more about the distance in which a Happy Ghast will give up following? Or perhaps it could be a little bit of both. Unsure. Attached are videos demonstrating this behavior for each version respectively.
