Destroying a banner in a non-overworld dimension will not remove any associated map markers

In the Nether, if you set up a named flag on an anvil and then right-click on it on the map, a marker will appear on the map. Normally, the marker on the map would disappear if you destroyed the flag, but in the Nether the marker does not disappear.
The marker should disappear as it should, so I would like this to be fixed.

Can confirm in 1.21.7-rc2, retitled the issue. Reloading the world does not fix the issue.

Can confirm in 1.21.8

This may be an intended part of nether map function, since maps aren’t supposed to work in the nether. In the End markers are removed automatically just like in the overworld. Banners can still be removed in the nether by clicking on them a second time with the map.
