Items placed into a chest by Copper Golems aren't pulled out by a hopper until a player moves an item

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Build an item sorter that reads from the chest (requires 7 stacks + 45 items - # sorted items)

    1. Place items in chest to be sorted (lower in chest, so filtered items don’t get pulled by hoppers)

  2. Place a Copper Golem with a Copper Chest, place items in copper chest

Expected result

  • Items get pulled by hopper

Actual result

  • Items stay in chest until a player interacts with said items

Environment

Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon, Kernel 6.15.8

With the setup provided, if you insert an oak Sapling, log, stripped log, wood, stripped wood, plank, stair, or slab into the hopper at the top (going into the copper chest) the golem will take them and stick them in the double chest

Only it won’t get pulled from the chest until you click on and move any item in the chest…

Happened to me too, I noticed the updating of comparators helps, but not that it is only half of the chest that does it, because all of my chests were oriented the same way in teh filter i was doing
