Testing with Copper Golems seems to provide the same results. If there is another chest much further away from the initial chest, with neither of them having been checked by it, it seems to first go towards the one that is the closest which I placed slabs over and in front of (1 above, then 1.5 above, 2 above, 2.5 above) (in this case, 5 blocks away from the copper chest). Then, once they reach in front of the slab ahead the chest (1-2.5 above), they do a 180-degree turn towards the other chest without checking it.
If they somehow manage to get under the slabs, they still do not check the chest, they just stand still.
Environment
Done above the ground with two paths on either side of the copper chest with chests on either end. One 5 blocks away with slabs/blocks above it at different heights, and one 10 blocks away on the other end with no blocks above it.

I reported it under ID MC-301293, but it was marked as resolved in that ticket. I don’t understand why, since I reported it using the latest version and the issue still persists
The issue still exists in 25w34b, I don’t know why this was marked as fixed
