I’m building in the nether, so it’s crucial that my entire base is mob proof. I’ve memorized the list of transparent blocks that I can use and pink petals are listed as non-solids and thus shouldn’t be spawnable. I’ve had three zombie piglins spawn in one patch of these flowers. I should be allowed to have a pretty base in the nether without the anxiety of getting attacked by all the hostile nether mobs.

Where did you get the information that pink petals prevent mob spawns? That has never been the case. Most other non-solid blocks don’t prevent spawns either, for that matter.
I’m resolving this as Invalid, as I consider this to be a feature request. There is no mention in the 23w07a changelogs (the snapshot that introduced pink petals) that mobs wouldn’t be able to spawn inside that block. Mobs can spawn inside other non-solid/collisionless plant-like blocks as well.
did u put a nether portal near by ? that would’ve cosed it.
