Trying To Apply Lunge And Mending Onto A Spear Will Result In Only One Being On The Spear, If Possible.
If This Is Intentional, I Don’t See The Reasoning Why.
Previous Incompatibilities Such As Infinity Do Make Sense, As It Would Be Incredibly Strong.
However I View Lunge As More Of A Detriment To The Spear Without Mending Being Able To Repair it.
With An Unbreaking III Netherite Spear, I Was Only Able To Use Lunge For A Relatively Short Amount Of Time Before It Broke, Short Enough That I Believe This To Have Been A Bug.
I Can Understand The Lunge Enchantment Using Some Durability Per Use, But The Sheer Speed Of The Depletion Left Me Worried.
The Only Way You Could Regularly Use A Spear With Lunge Is To Sacrifice Levels And Materials To Keep Repairing It, And Even Then It Will Always Eventually Reach The XP Limit On An Anvil And Be Unable To Be Repaired Again.
I Ask That This Be Reconsidered As Lunge Has Amazing Potential, It Is Versatile. Being Able To Close Distance In Fights, Useful As A Method Of Transportation, And Even Applicable In Parkour, Allowing Further Jumps Than Thought Possible Before. However, The Durability Issue Will Always Leave The Spear To Be Relegated As A Rarely Used Tool Simply Because Mending Is Incompatible With Lunge.
