Lunge doesn't take effect when performing a jab attack while flying with elytra

Performing a jab attack using a spear enchanted with Lunge while flying with elytra neither propels the player nor consumes any of the spear’s durability.

How to reproduce:

1. Give yourself elytra, a firework rocket and a spear enchanted with any level of Lunge.

2. Wear the elytra.

3. Take off into the air with the rocket.

4. Perform a jab attack with the spear.

Expected result:

A spear with Lunge would propel the player even when used while flying with elytra.

Observed result:

A spear with Lunge does not propel the player when used while flying with elytra.
