When a Copper Golem is searching a row Chests, they sometimes forget which Chests they’ve searched and start checking already checked Chests.
For example, a Copper Golem can search ten Chests in a row, then pause, and start re-checking the Chests in reverse order over 50% of the time.
To reproduce, start a Creative Superflat World, and use command “/fill ~ ~-1 ~ ~ ~-1 ~63 chest{Items: [{count:1, Slot:0b, id:"minecraft:dirt"}]}”, then use “/fill ~1 ~ ~ ~1 ~ ~63 air“ while standing on the chest. Spawn a Copper Golem and place a Copper Chest, and put an item other than Dirt in the Copper Chest.

I belive this is an intended behavior: a copper golem checks up to 10 chests and if they cannot find a matching item, they forget all the previous chests, they wait 7 seconds, and then they start checking again.
