The critical, strong, and sweep attack sounds do not play when they are supposed to. Instead they are replaced with the weak attack sounds. The knockback attack sound is strangely unaffected though.
How to reproduce:
- Open any snapshot version after 1.21.10 (25w41a-25w44a)
- Spawn or find any mob
- Perform a critical, sweep, or normal attack (this one without a sword) how you normally would.
Expected:
In 1.21.10 or lower, performing these attacks on any entity (except miscellaneous entities like boats or minecarts) plays their respective sounds,
Unexpected result:
Doing any of these will instead always use the weak attack sound, even when the attack itself is not. I only expect this to happen on Bedrock Edition.
These sounds still exist in these versions and can played using the /playsound command. If this is the case, I don’t expect that this problem is intentional or meant to stay. Even if it was, however, this is not a nice change at all. The attack sounds are a great addition since they help (alongside the particles) with knowing exactly what you did. Not to mention, they are one of the best parts of Java Edition, albeit such small details.
