Bug/Feature Feedback: Restore Unique Attack Ranges for Mobs

Prior to Minecraft version 1.19, certain mobs—including Iron Golems and Ravagers—had an attack range greater than 1 block. However, in later versions (e.g., 1.21.10), mobs’ attack ranges appear to have been unified to exactly 1 block. This change eliminates mob uniqueness and is clearly unreasonable:

  • Iron Golems, with their long arms, logically deserve a longer attack range.

  • In version 1.21.10, Ravagers exhibit flawed behavior: when approaching players to the attack range they had in 1.19, they pause incorrectly, assuming they’ve landed an attack (but no damage is dealt). This makes the mob feel unintelligent.

Expected Behavior

Restore the unique, distinct attack ranges for each individual mob (as they were pre-1.19) and reintroduce this mechanic to the game.

Steps to Reproduce (Ravager Issue)

1. Spawn a Ravager in Minecraft 1.21.10.

2. Approach the Ravager until it attempts to attack (reaching the attack range it had in version 1.19).

3. Observe the Ravager pausing without dealing any damage, confirming the attack range mism
