Debug gizmos do not render behind translucent items

Debug gizmos like hitboxes and chunk borders do not render behind translucent items. This has been occurring since 26.1 Snapshot 4.

Probably, but this issue is a bit different, as not all debug rendering is affected by this:

Note that the outermost blue edges of the chunk border rendering are still visible behind translucent items, while certain other lines like the yellow grid are not.

These are related but different systems, block selection outlines are managed by BlockOutlineRenderState and rendered via the renderBlockOutline method within LevelRenderer. Most debug rendering uses the Gizmo system, which is separate

After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.

Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
