"death.attack.genericKill.item" displays as a raw translation string (is untranslated)

The cause of this bug is still unclear.

I don’t know when it started occurring,

but this key is indeed untranslated (discovered while testing commands in 1.21.11).

Method (tested personally in 1.21.11):

  1. Make sure there are at least two players in your world.

  2. Obtain the item using this command:

    /give @s stick[damage_type=generic_kill,enchantments={sharpness:255},custom_name="genericKill"]

    • damage_type=generic_kill is required.

    • stick can be any item.

    • custom_name is also required, but you can use any name.

    • enchantments is only for one-hit kills.

  3. Hold the item obtained from the command above and hit another player (the player can be in Creative mode).

You will then see the raw, untranslated death message.
