Rare intermittent issue causing extreme performance degradation when entities are visible

This issue was introduced back in 26.1 Snapshot 1.
In summary looking at entities will sometimes degrade your FPS much more than it should. And worst of all it’s completely random if the issue occurs on any given launch, and it’s very hard to trigger. So far I have only been able to trigger this issue once in two days of testing.
According to one theory I’ve heard this issue is caused by switching from sun.misc.Unsafe to VarHandle and that the issue lies outside of rendering.
As of 26.2 Snapshot 1, the issue can occur on both OpenGL and Vulkan.

Reproduction Steps:
- There are unknown variables which trigger this. As such the issue is not consistently reproducable and appears to happen randomly. But once it does trigger the issue will persist until you restart the game.
- Once the issue triggers on it’s own, look at a bunch of entities/block entities.

Observed Results:
- There is an unusual FPS drop with entities on screen

Expected Results:
- This wouldn’t happen

I’ve attached screenshots from the one time I randomly encountered the issue. You can see my FPS drop to very low values when I load the hanging signs (which are block entities).

I think I may have stumbled upon the same or a similar bug.
I have a 8x8 wall of (glowing) signs that display stats for my horses. I use culling mods and my FPS drops from 300 to 20 whenever its in my FOV.

I first thaught it was the horses but after testing i am fairly certain its the signs.
This issue was introduced 2 days ago for me, after we updated our server to 1.21.11. We where on 1.21.4 before this, and i had no performance loss with the older version.
