Any time a decent amount of decorated pots are being rendered, the performance takes quite a hit. In the video below, there is a 10x10 square of decorated pots. However, in Trial Chambers there is a decrease in FPS as well.
When using a fresh installation, the issue is still visible, but not as bad as one with tweaked settings.
To reproduce the issue, simply type the following command;
/fill ~-5 ~-5 ~-5 ~5 ~5 ~5 minecraft:decorated_potAttachments

Hi!
Is this issue still occurring in the latest snapshot? If so, could you please attach a screenshot with your system specs visible in the debug overlay (F3)? You can show them by pressing F3+F6 and enabling system_specs.
Thanks!
Hi!
By the looks of it, this issue seems to be a LOT worse when using Vulkan. I’ve made two screenshots with the system specs enabled on the latest version, one using OpenGL and one using Vulkan. Since they’re block entities, a performance hit is to be expected, but it seems to be quite a bit extreme on Vulkan 😛
Hope these screenshots help!!
1st test (3 screenshots) I was able to reproduce with chests, but got opposite results. I got slightly better performance with Vulkan, but when switching back to OpenGL, performance tanked hard. Performance went back to normal when switching back to Vulkan
2nd test (3 screenshots) I was able to reproduce with decorated pots. Performance tanked on both Vulkan and OpenGL. Was not able to recover performance switching back to Vulkan
3rd test (4 screenshots) I was able to reproduce with less decorated pots. Performance tanked the first time with OpenGL, but when switching back to OpenGL the second time, performance did recover.
It’s worth noting I had to make separate worlds for each of these tests as I was not able to reproduce these results using the same world. Overall very interesting bug. (Screenshots might be misarranged, no idea how to fix this)
