The bug

Deepslate ores can generate on the surface by replacing tuff around sulfur springs.

How to reproduce

  1. Create a world with the seed 4215478636840959629.

  2. /execute in minecraft:overworld run tp @s -141.28 64.00 -3054.00 -219.00 51.16

  3. If the deepslate ore doesn’t appear, try recreating the world again.

Expected result

Stone coal ore would replace tuff.

Observed result

Deepslate coal ore generates instead, despite this material only being available on Y<=5.

In the provided world seed, it seems the deepslate ore only generates when approaching the sulfur spring from the south, not when teleporting to it.

Is this still an issue?
