I tried creating a resource pack that ports Bedrock Edition’s exclusive 3D bubble columns to Java Edition. While I can confirm the model itself works, attempting to assign it via a blockstates file to minecraft:bubble_column does not; the geometry does not get rendered at all. The model is used for the block’s particles from when falling on it, however the planes used for drawing the block in the world do not appear.
The resource pack I have created is attached to the ticker - download and apply it, and note that while the fall particles change, the block geometry does not.
