This is similar to MC-307159, an issue have been fixed in 26.2-pre-1. When a player uses the Bone Meal held in the main hand on a sapling or a mushroom, the off-hand action is triggered.
Steps to Reproduce
Equip Bone Meal in the main hand.
Equip any block in the off-hand.
Use to a sapling or a mushroom.
Observe that the Bone Meal is used, but a block is also placed.
Observed Results
The game executes the "Use" action for both hands at the same time with a single click.
Expected Results
Only the Bone Meal should be used. The off-hand item should only be placed if the main hand item cannot interact with the targeted block.

can confirm, and despite working wrong on brown and red mushrooms, it seems to work well on crimson and warped funguses, also it works well on bamboos
