Loading an invalid resource pack multiple times causes the game to crash

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Try loading PureBDcraft x512 with the Vulkan backend multiple times

Environment

GTX 1070

Comments 4

Loading a pack that fails to stitch leaks native memory each reload until OOM. In AtlasManager.reload() the upload is gated behind CompletableFuture.allOf(...), if one atlas fails (e.g. StitcherException), it short-circuits and atlas.upload() runs for no atlas. The successful atlases' Preparations are never uploaded nor close()d, leaking their NativeImage pixels (no Cleaner).

And no, because there's nothing visual about this bugβ€”it just causes a crash

Can confirm in 26.3 Snapshot 3.
