When a player starts mining a block in Survival mode, then quickly stops and switches to Adventure mode before the block is destroyed, the block remains minable in Adventure mode. The mining progress texture updates correctly as the player continues mining, but upon reaching 100% progress, the texture resets to the 0% progress state instead of destroying the block. This cycle repeats each time the progress bar fills completely. The abnormal mining behavior and texture state persist until a nearby block receives a block update (e.g., being placed, broken, or toggled) or the world is reloaded. Reloading chunks via F3+A does not resolve the issue. If the player stops mining in Adventure mode, the texture freezes at its current progress state until a block update or world reload occurs.
Steps to Reproduce:
Launch Minecraft Java Edition 26.2.
Enter any world and ensure the player is in Survival mode.
Start mining a block (do not break it completely).
Immediately stop mining and switch the player's gamemode to Adventure mode.
Resume mining the same block in Adventure mode.
Observed Results:
The block continues to be minable in Adventure mode, with normal mining particles appearing.
The mining progress texture advances but, upon reaching full progress, resets to the 0% texture instead of breaking the block.
This texture reset repeats each time the progress bar fills.
If the player stops mining, the texture remains frozen at the current progress level.
Reloading chunks (F3+A) does not correct the behavior.
The block returns to normal (unminable in Adventure mode, texture at 0%) only after a nearby block update or a world reload.
Expected Results:
After switching to Adventure mode, the block should not be minable at all, and no mining progress or particles should appear.
The block's texture should remain unchanged (0% progress) while attempting to mine in Adventure mode.
Stopping mining should have no effect on the block's texture, and the block should not exhibit cyclic texture behavior.
