Pressing command + W now closes the game on Macs in snapshot 4 by activating the close front window shortcut, despite never having activated that shortcut in any previous versions

I get that it might seem intended, but i still believe it should be reverted since it effectively does the same thing as command + q for minecraft (which is right next to it on the keyboard anyways), and command/control are both commonly used to sprint or sneak, meaning that doing that action and walking will close the game in this version, which again has never happened in any previous version
Seems like the reason why this is happening is because from 26.3-snapshot 4 and on, Mojang switched the window management from GLFW to SDL3, which has a built in keybind for Command + W to close the window. Not sure but it should be fixable.
not sure why this was marked as fixed when in my testing, this still happens in snapshot 6 (albeit a tiny bit less consistently). can anyone else with a mac double check that this is still happening for you as well?
It was “fixed” in the sense that the new Quit Shortcuts option toggles this behavior. However Mojang has triaged MC-310550 despite it being a clone of this issue, indicating that they are taking a second look at it.
Can confirm, but this seems intended to me, since this is the default behavior for apps (except those in exclusive fullscreen mode, which are usually not designed with Mac in mind).
