Placing an armor stand, boat, or minecart via dispenser fails to emit `entity_place` sculk vibration

If a player places an armor stand, boat, or minecart, a minecraft:entity_place sculk vibration (signal strength 14) is emitted; but if a dispenser places one of these, no such vibration is emitted. This is confusing and inconsistent with spawn eggs, which emit the vibration regardless of whether the item was used by a player or dispenser.

In addition to the obvious consistency problem, this also causes practical issues for redstone contraptions, since it makes automatic generation of a type 14 vibration effectively infeasible in survival. (See this video @ 9:44.)

This issue can easily be replicated using a calibrated sculk sensor calibrated to signal strength 14 and a dispenser containing an armor stand (or containing a minecart and placed facing a rail, or containing a boat and placed facing water).

Here’s a datapack containing a gametest you can run to test the behavior:

Did a little bit more research into this. I was mistaken about minecarts triggering sculk sensors when placed manually. I must have assumed they did since boats and armor stands do.

Because of the boat behavior specifically, I think perhaps either this ticket or MC-207308 should be reopened. The situation is different than it was when that ticket was closed. That ticket says “Boats and minecarts […] do not activate the Sensor when placed by hand” in its description, but that statement is no longer entirely true, since placing a boat does now does trigger a sculk sensor (and thus there is now an inconsistency).

I have now requested a Mojang review of MC-207308 with your comment as a reference.

Mojang have now reopened and triaged MC-207308. Since it no longer has a reporter, I could transfer ownership of that ticket to you if you would like to keep it up to date.

Sure, I could do that. Thank you for bringing it to Mojang’s attention.
