The game does not hand off focus when clicking links on Wayland

Clicking links in chat does not focus the applications that are opened to deal with the links. The applications open in the background and highlights orange on the taskbar in KDE until you click on it (likely the result of failing to follow window activation rules). Firefox can correctly take focus from other applications, so this is a Minecraft: Java Edition issue.

  1. Join a world with cheats enabled.

  2. Run the following command to generate a clickable link in chat: /tellraw @p {"click_event":{"action":"open_url","url":"https://www.google.com"},"text":"https://www.google.com"}

  3. Ensure the Minecraft window is focused.

  4. Click the link

  5. The link opens in Firefox.

❌. Minecraft stays as the focused application.

✅. Firefox (the web browser) should take focus from the game because it has just opened the link.

Environment

Arch Linux x86_64, Linux 7.1.8-arch1-3, KDE Plasma 6.7.4 (kwin 6.7.4-5), Firefox 153.0.4
