Due to the fix for MC-258347, the teleportation particle trail has been restored. However, the previous teleportation particle behavior is still active alongside the newly added particle trail.
As a result, Enderman and chorus fruit teleportation generate two independent sets of portal particles during a single teleport.
Expected Result
A single teleportation particle effect is generated.
Actual Result
Both the previous particle effect and the newly added teleportation trail are generated during the same teleport, resulting in 256 portal particles instead of 128.
Additional information
After examining the 26.3 Snapshot 10 code, it appears that the underlying entity event 46 behavior was not changed by the fix.
LivingEntity.randomTeleport(..., true) still broadcasts entity event 46 after a successful teleport, and the client-side handler for event 46 still creates 128 portal particles using the entity's old and current positions. In other words, the existing particle implementation remains active.
The new teleportation trails appear to have been implemented separately. Enderman and chorus fruit teleportation trigger newly added level events for their teleportation trails while the existing entity event 46 is still generated.
As a result, a single successful teleport produces two independent sets of particles:
128 particles from the existing entity event 46.
Another 128 particles from the newly added level event.
This results in a total of 256 portal particles being generated for a single teleport instead of 128.
Therefore, this does not appear to be caused simply by the particle count being increased. The old entity event 46 particle path and the newly introduced teleportation particle path are both active for the same teleport.
The underlying event 46 behavior consequently appears to remain unchanged, with the new behavior implemented as an additional mechanism rather than as a replacement for it.
