Horse Taming Temper Does Not Increase When Standing on a Single Isolated

Issue:
When attempting to tame a horse in Minecraft, if the horse is standing on a single isolated block with no surrounding blocks to move onto, the player appears to be unable to tame it.

The horse's temper stat does not appear to increase, regardless of how long the player spends attempting to tame it or how many times they mount it.

In comparison, horses that are allowed to roam freely gain temper normally and can be tamed much faster, even when the player spends significantly less time attempting to tame them.

This suggests that the horse's ability to move may be incorrectly affecting its temper progression during the taming process.

How to Reproduce:

  1. Find an untamed horse.

  2. Place or move the horse onto a single isolated block, ensuring there are no surrounding blocks for it to walk onto.

  3. Mount the horse and attempt to tame it normally.

  4. Continue mounting the horse repeatedly, allowing it to throw the player off between attempts.

  5. Observe that the horse's temper does not appear to increase, even after numerous attempts.

  6. Repeat the process with another untamed horse in an open area where it can roam freely.

  7. Observe that the free-roaming horse gains temper normally and can be tamed in significantly less time.

Suggested Fix:
Ensure that horse temper increases correctly during taming attempts, regardless of whether the horse has room to move.

The taming mechanic should not depend on the horse's ability to walk around or change position. Horses confined to small spaces should gain temper at the same rate as horses in open areas.

Expected Behaviour:
Players should be able to tame horses through repeated mounting attempts, regardless of the horse's available movement space.

The horse's temper should progressively increase with unsuccessful taming attempts until it eventually reaches the required threshold for successful taming.

Current Behaviour:
When a horse is confined to a single isolated block, its temper appears to remain unchanged despite repeated mounting attempts, preventing successful taming.

Meanwhile, horses in open areas gain temper normally and can be tamed much faster, even with fewer mounting attempts.
