Tree trunks spawns incompletely

This is different from the tree issue shown in MC-5737

What I expected to happen was trees generate with whole trunks
I saw a tree near my spawn point with its top half missing

With reference to attachment.

Regenerated in a creative mode version. Same tree weirdness, but top half of tree generated appears to be slightly longer by a bit.

Not confirmed if same weirdness occurs in other areas, seeds etc.
(No idea how my second screenshot so derp)
