[MC-35817] No sound + SOLUTION

No sounds being played.

Messages in the log file like this:

[06:48:14] [Client thread/WARN]: File minecraft:sounds/ambient/cave/cave1.ogg does not exist, cannot add it to event minecraft:ambient.cave.cave

and

Client> [07:20:29] [Client thread/WARN]: Unable to play empty soundEvent: meta:missing_sound

I looked in the .minecraft/assets directory, and saw a new SOUNDS (all upper case) subdirectory.

I renamed "SOUNDS" (all upper case) to "sounds" (all lower case) and the sounds started working again.

Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 13w48b? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

I haven't had the problem since I renamed the directory.

There was another player on a 1.7 server that had the same issue, and this fix resolved it, but I don't know what exact version he was running.

I put my solution here to help people that searched for "no sound". I don't know if it's helped anyone else or not.
