This ticket is invalid as it relates to a modified or 3rd party client, server, or launcher.

Any non-standard client/server/launcher build needs to be taken up with the appropriate team, not Mojang.

Use a bukkit server to make the lightning, but view it with a vanilla client. if the VISUAL glitch still occurs, it's the client's fault, and it doesn't matter that bukkit was used.

In 1.8 snapshot I used /summon LightningBolt to get lightning and yes the water was invisible
