[MC-37159] SRV record not working

Since the Minecraft version 1.7.2 (in the snapshot versions too) when I try to connect to a server using SRV record it doesn't work. It cannot even ping the server.
It seems, that this is a problem of the new network connection system.

Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 13w48b? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
