Placing Water Source into some blocks yields no drops

When placing water directly on top of crops (e.g. wheat, carrots, potatoes) it destroys the plant entirely, and you get no drops from it.

Edit: Due to some confusion, I am talking about when you place a water source on the same block a crop is occupying.

Do you mean placing a water source into the same space as the crop?

If it is placed in the same place, I can confirm that there are no drops.

In that case confirmed.

This my help people understand! The sugarcane disapears. yielding no drop at all

I can confirm. This bug also occurs when placing a water block on a block that a torch is placed on.
