Stained Glass Generates its own light

What I expected to happen was...
It to do nothing at night

What actually happened was...
It lit up the ground witch it was two blocks above
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a World
2. Place the glass above the ground and light up the night!

To have a clear explanation... The stained glass (any color) produces its own light when there is another light source around in a dark area. It is very random, but it defiantly happens. I haven't tested if logging out and in fixes it or not. I do know the block light was 14 right next to a stained glass block without glowstone/light around.

Karl, the issue you're having and the issue I'm having must be different. With my magic stained glass, the light is there whether there's a light source or not. How very odd. I also cannot reproduce what you're describing.

If I were to have a wild stab in the dark, I'd say it has something to do with ID 95. This ID was used for locked chest, which had light level 15, now that stained glass has that ID, some piece of code somewhere probably still thinks that block 95s must have light level 15.

You are right, there was no light around this time. I was thinking it was because there was light around, but there was not and it was still glowing bright as glowstone.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 14w11b / Launcher version 1.3.11 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Quick question to those affected, have you ever used MCedit (or other world editors) on your world, because that will cause this effect if they have not been updated to deal with stained glass.

@Sonic: Locked chests generated light, and MCEdit automatically adds light around blocks, as otherwise it would not update in game.

MCEdit has not updated to support the locked chests replacement with stained glass back in 1.7 (except in dev builds), causing it to add light to what it thinks are light producing blocks (aka, the stained glass)
