Closing Minecraft modifies system display settings

On a dual monitor system with the GNOME shell UI, the second monitor is disabled when the game is closed. This happens regardless if player is in game or in the main menu. It does not affect the Minecraft launcher.

The second monitor also becomes disabled when the game enters full screen mode.

Also, probably unrelated, full screen mode does not work with this system configuration. When F11 is hit to enter full screen mode the game stops redrawing the window. Even after entering windowed mode again the game still does not update the contents of the window. There are no error messages on the console.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.7.4 / Launcher version 1.3.8 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
