Acts like far lands

The other day, I was Updating Minecraft 1.7.4, to the 2nd update for that version, and when I tried to play, it took me to the title. That is not all of the bug. I just hit W and the world loaded. I walked down from a deck that I had built, noticing it had been deleted. So, I had rebuilt it and then walked outside to check on the Iron Golem that I had built, and he was frozen in place. I couldn't deal damage, and I just walked through him, which made me wander over the un-loaded chunk and hit "F3". it said "0 Chunk updates". I walked on it and fell down into what is known as "Blue Hell" and then, I randomly teleported back to the porch, once again un-finished. everything that I had done before falling was reseted. My door was once again fixed
