[MC-42556] Need Help! Minecraft Crashes after I hit Play

I have windows vista and the latest java. Don't know why it's not working. Attached is what I get:

Duplicate of MC-14051 - Please update your graphics card drivers following these instructions: Updating Graphics Card Drivers.

If you are using Java arguments to increase the amount of memory, please reduce it to the default 512MB.
Do not rely on automatic searches for driver updates.
Do not use Windows Update or Device Manager - Microsoft doesn't install OpenGL, they promote DirectX.
If you know the brand and type of your graphics card, go to the links provided above and search manually for the most recent driver for your card. The automatic detection tools of the card manufacturers are not recommended.
If all that won't help, please use the Mojang Support Center.

I'm not using Java arguments cuz I don't know how. But how do I check to make sure its at the default 512M?

Update your graphic card drivers.
You can use -Xmx512M to set the Memory to 512M.

Man ur awsome Thx!!! It works!!!! It's says "old graphics card detected: this may prevent you from playing in future as OpenGL 2.0 will be required" I guess this mean I would need to buy a new laptop right when they decide to go to GL20 right?

The Minimum System Requirements says "Open GL 2.1 Support", so yes, if you already tried finding drivers yourself and didn't find anything, your hardware setup is possibly too weak. But be sure you tried everything before buying a while new system 😉.
