Some items villagers drop are unable to be picked up

I'm sorry, but that doesn't make much sense for two reasons.

1) That would now be the only dropped item in the game that the player can't pick up, which is confusing. Which is why this issue exists.
2) With the new villager AI, why would I want them to be farming the wheat and replanting it if I don't get any benefit out of it? i.e. getting bread they make from it for me. If they need some too, that's fine, but anything on the ground should be mine. Otherwise, having them auto-farm seems like a big pain if I want to setup camp around a village and be able to farm my own wheat, they'd keep just getting in the way.

well, the villager farming system so far I noticed
1) They see full grown crops they go over and break it.
2) After a while, they drop bread onto the ground as a farming produce (for players?)
3) The bread cannot be picked up and does not acts as a normal Minecraft item/block dropped on the ground and 2D does not follow the player as the player moves around it. A while later, the bread moves into the players inventory without the 'animation' of the player picking it up.

Unlike Wun, I haven't noticed being able to pick them up at all. Villagers are going to be really frustrating if they farm all the wheat and don't give you anything for it. It'll make setting up camp and taking care of a village and having your own food supply much harder.

Actually, I also have not seem to pick them up. It just somehow shows up in my inventory... Maybe like 1 out of 20-50 actually registers after a while. I guess this might be a minor yet serious bug if you cannot farm in villagers anymore.

Also, villagers don't pick up the items either. I've got potatoes, and there's lots of them, and they just float about. I'm attaching a screenshot.

Fun thing, they will not pick their bread (the one they throw at each other) but they pick mine (if I throw them bread). Looks like somehow the bread they throw is invalid – I'd bet it has to do with this new way to handle IDs Mojang is implementing. Like: they pick items with string reference but what they "craft" still uses IDs or something like that.

Does this still happens in 14w31a?

Didn't play vanilla for a little while. Don't know if it's stil there. But no such bug fix shows on the Mojang site. It doesn't even have an assignee.
