MC-46560

When certain mobs take damage, the red damage indicator is not displayed properly.

Moderator Note

Confirmed with the following mobs:
Sheep
Slime
Dogs with Colored Collars
Snow Golems
Zombies with Leather Armor

When a sheep takes damage, it's, 'fur' doesn't actually show the red damage indicator; only the face and legs do.

What I expected to happen was...:
The whole sheep turns red like in 1.7

What actually happened was...:
Only the legs and face turned red, the fur didn't

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Hit a sheep with anything

I can confirm. Previously, the entire sheep would show the red damage. Now it is only the main body.

Yup, it's true

Zombie's leather armor goes more red than the rest of the zombie, as well. No such thing with gold armor (haven't seen diamond, iron, or chainmail)

The thing with "only head and legs" is nut true it's the WHOLE main body, so you can't reproduce this with sheared sheep.

The wool part doesn't color red for me in 14w05b

Ok I believe you but why did Grum talk about dog collars and sheep fur?

Let's wait for the next snapshot...

This issue is not yet fixed, I do want to fix it before the snapshot though 🙂

Very likely looking into it today (its not fun to look into this one 😞 and we have some major Inventory overhauling going on at the same time). Worst case it'll be fixed later 🙂

Thanks for the clarification and good luck! 🙂
