The bug
When a single block is placed above the void, it will make a darkened version of the rain particles in the void for one lock if raining.
This will not happen if two or more blocks are placed above the void.
How to reproduce
Open up a superflat creative world
Use /
weather rain
Break all blocks but bedrock in a certain area

Is this still an issue in the most recent versions (currently that is 1.10.2, or 16w42a) of Minecraft? If so, please update the affected versions and help us keeping this ticket updated from time to time.

Particles now collide with the void (1 block under the bedrock).

Attached screenshot of the new behavior of the rain particles.

I guess because of MC-131770

Should I create a ticket about it or update MC-131770?

This has been fixed at some point.
