sticky piston not pullin blocks back

sticky pistons dont stick to blocks some piston creation will not work cause of the pistons , like when i use redstone switch the piston should pull the block down but it just leaves it in the air.and my tree machine does not work cause the pistons are not recating to the redstone this also happen on the xbox 360 as well need a big look into cause most of the creation that use pistons are not working when you create a new world. i have attached a pic of the piston not pulling the block back like it should
