I have attempted to create two worlds, both have had an occurrence where part of the world (roughly 20 X 20) goes black and unusable from bottom to top. Shortly after, I have lowered my frame rate and distance, along with other aspects, all to no avail. Is my computer just too slow?

is the black spot like a hole straight through bedrock that's a chunk wide? if it is it's a chunk error. a reload of the world should fix it.
