What I expected to happen was...:
When using /fill <x1> <y1> <z1> <x2> <y2> <z2> torch or /fill <x1> <y1> <z1> <x2> <y2> <z2> torch 0, the torches would be placed as if on top of a block
What actually happened was...:
In both cases, any torches adjacent to a block tangent the area specified would display as if on the side of the tangent block. when holding the cursor over the torch, the outline would switch back and forth between the side outline of a torch and the standing outline of a torch very rapidly.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make a 3x3 area of air(works with larger areas as well)
2. Place any solid block below it.
3. Place any solid blocks around it.
4. Use the /fill <x1> <y1> <z1> <x2> <y2> <z2> torch or /fill <x1> <y1> <z1> <x2> <y2> <z2> torch 0 (specify the area of air that you made)
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.
