Only some of the teleportations, when walking or running while jumping, will send the player to the position that the player was in at the beginning of a jump. Possibly but not excluding when space was first pressed (and held) to jump, even when several jumps in a row and several teleportations in between the lag/reset thing were made.
With and without jump boost. Seemingly always 'to' a position on the ground.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.

Something similar seems to still happen but only 'to' the start of the last jump, and only after crazy long sequences of jumps. Not anything actually notasable, i would say.
